County Hall---Built for LCC, capitalfs first citywide government, in1922. LCC was succeeded by GLC in 1965, but Margaret Thatcher, the Toryfs Iron Lady, abolished it in 1986. Since then the building has been closed off and used by nobody

We visited County Hall where the GLC had taken office until a few years ago. The building was locked out and nobody used it.

As Takaki wanted to go to toilet, I looked around for it and found out one at a corner of West Minster wharf. On the wharf a sightseeing ship bound for Greenwich was set up for starting. Takaki wanted to get on the ship. I bought two one way tickets for us and we got on it. The ship went down the river for an hour and arrived at Greenwich.
