Oxford Botanic Garden….The oldest botanic garden in Britain. The Walled Garden was built before the Civil War on the bank of the River Cherwell in the center of Oxford. It has evolved from seventeenth century collection of medical plants to the compact collection of plants in the world.

There was a botanic garden beside a river named Churwell. The river was the upper tributary of Thames. Some boats were floating on the river. You could row the boat downstreem to London and far to the North sea.
