Nakasugi Street

Nakasugi street is one of the main roads running north and south in western Tokyo. The street was named after the names of two wards it runs, Nakano and Suginami.

This is a quite wonderful street with zelkova trees on both side.
Fresh young leaves create a green tunnel in early summer, and the road is covered with a deep shadow.
In autumn, the leaves color beautifully red and yellow.
And in winter, all of the leaves are fallen on the ground, and the stripped trees let sunlight come through onto the walls of the buildings along the road.

On a day of late autumn, I walked along this road from Asagaya railway station heading to Ome-kaido where Suginami ward office is located.
